What is safety flooring?
Safety flooring is a non-slip flooring that is highly durable, easy to clean and hard wearing. It also needs to be able to withstand heavy foot traffic for years and should be stain resistant. Sometimes it is simply referred to as non-slip, but it is actually designed
(and tested) to minimise the risk of injury in environments where spills are common.
A lot of flooring types are non-slip, but safety flooring is a specific type that must be used in certain areas. Vinyl safety flooring is manufactured differently to normal vinyl flooring, as it consists of a mix of natural and synthetic polymer materials. There are various levels available, depending on the environment and the level of footfall that the flooring must withstand.
This non-porous flooring is easier to keep clean, an important factor when hygiene is essential.
